The Hari Singapore Will Bring Its Cultured Luxury to Orchard Road in 2027

Singapore’s luxury hotel scene is set to welcome a new name in spring 2027, as Harilela Hotels prepares to bring The Hari brand to the city-state.

The Hari Singapore will become the third hotel in the collection, joining sister properties in London and Hong Kong. The new opening will see the current Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre transformed into a 326-bedroom luxury hotel, complete with a rooftop pool, executive lounge, dining and wellness experiences, and the brand’s signature rotating programme of artwork.

For The Hari, Singapore is a natural next step. The brand has built its identity around cultured hospitality, intimate design, and a sense of place that feels more personal than prescribed. Its London hotel brought that spirit to Belgravia, while The Hari Hong Kong gave it a distinctly Wan Chai expression. In Singapore, that same philosophy will be shaped around one of Asia’s most dynamic urban crossroads.

“This hotel, like our sister properties in Belgravia and Wan Chai, will embody relaxed elegance punctuated by eccentricity, wit, culture and genuine heartfelt hospitality,” said the brand’s founder, Dr. Aron Harilela. “Singapore is key to our ambition to evolve The Hari in major international destinations.”

A New Chapter for The Hari

The project marks a major transformation for the Orchard Road property, shifting it from a familiar city-centre address into a luxury hotel designed for the next generation of international travellers.

At the heart of that transformation will be British designer Tara Bernerd, whose work has helped define the character of both The Hari London and The Hari Hong Kong. Known for interiors that are elegant without feeling overly formal, Bernerd will bring her signature approach to Singapore, creating spaces that balance contemporary polish with warmth, personality and local energy.

The design direction is expected to reflect the cultural character of Singapore while staying true to The Hari’s identity: layered, sophisticated, welcoming, and alive with art, wit and atmosphere.

That artistic spirit has become part of the brand’s DNA. Each Hari hotel features a revolving rota of artwork, giving the properties a sense of movement and discovery. Rather than operating as static luxury spaces, the hotels are designed to feel lived-in, cultural and connected to the cities around them.

Singapore’s Luxury Moment

The Hari Singapore arrives at a time when Singapore continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Asia’s most compelling luxury destinations. The city has long been a gateway between East and West, but in recent years it has also become a magnet for design-led hotels, ambitious restaurants, wellness concepts and high-end urban travel.

For The Hari, the move into Singapore expands the brand’s Asian footprint while reinforcing its international ambitions. It also places the hotel in one of the region’s most recognizable hospitality districts, close to shopping, dining, business and culture.

The property will carry forward the Harilela family’s long-standing commitment to hospitality. The Harilela Group was established in 1959 and remains wholly owned by the Harilela family. Its hotel arm, Harilela Hotels, owns 15 properties across Hong Kong, China, Asia, Europe and the United States.

The Hari Singapore will be the third hotel to open under The Hari brand. The Hari London opened in August 2016, followed by The Hari Hong Kong in December 2020.

When it opens in spring 2027, The Hari Singapore will add another layer to the city’s luxury landscape — one shaped not only by service and design, but by personality, culture and a distinctly human sense of hospitality.
