There are places where wellness is not simply about escape, but about connection — to the land, to history, to the rhythms of the sea and the quiet rituals passed down through generations.
On Vietnam’s south-central coast, The Anam Mui Ne is leaning into that deeper sense of place with the launch of Champa Journey, a new collection of four spa rituals inspired by Mui Ne’s links to the ancient Champa Kingdom and the country’s long tradition of herbal healing.
Set within the luxury beachfront resort, the new experiences are designed as more than conventional spa treatments. Each 120-minute ritual draws from native botanicals, traditional Vietnamese remedies and the cultural memory of a civilisation that helped shape the region’s story for more than a millennium.
The Champa Kingdom, a Hindu-Buddhist civilisation that flourished along Vietnam’s central and southern coastline, remains an enduring part of the area’s identity. While The Anam Mui Ne’s new wellness collection is contemporary in execution, its inspiration reaches back to that legacy, blending local ingredients and therapies intended to calm the mind and body, support circulation and encourage a natural sense of energy flow.

“We believe wellness should feel connected to where you are and the Champa Kingdom remains an important part of this region’s story,” said The Anam Mui Ne’s resort manager Peter Ye. “‘Champa Journey’ is our interpretation of that cultural connection through wellness, with treatments influenced by Vietnamese healing rituals and Mui Ne’s restorative beachfront setting.”
A Sense of Place Through Healing Ingredients
The collection is built around ingredients long associated with Vietnamese herbal traditions, including perilla leaves, lemongrass, pandan leaves, aloe vera, turmeric, pomelo leaves and sea salt.
Perilla leaves, valued in Vietnamese herbal medicine for their warming and restorative qualities, appear alongside herbs and spices chosen for both their sensory and therapeutic properties. Sea salt, meanwhile, brings the rituals back to Mui Ne itself — a destination defined by its littoral atmosphere, soft coastal light and the constant presence of the sea.
Rice also plays an important role throughout the collection. Long regarded across Asia as a symbol of life and nourishment, rice is used in warm herbal compresses that combine roasted rice with lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, perilla leaves and local herbs.
The treatments also incorporate mineral-rich mud, drawing on the ancient Champa Kingdom’s connection to earth and sea. Used in facial rituals, the mud is intended for its purifying and nourishing benefits, leaving the skin with a refreshed, radiant finish.

Four Rituals, Four Moods
Champa Journey is composed of four distinct wellness experiences, each designed around a different emotional and physical intention.
Champa Dawn Renewal begins with purifying steam therapy, followed by an Ayurvedic head massage and herbal foot ritual intended to stimulate circulation and awaken the senses. A delicate rice body polish exfoliates the skin before a full-body massage releases tension and creates a feeling of lightness.
Champa Sacred Earth also opens with a head massage and foot ritual, but moves into a more grounding experience. At its centre are a herbal oil massage and a warm rice herbal compress massage, designed to quiet the mind and bring the body into a calmer, more settled state.
Champa Flow Within takes its cue from movement and water. Designed to restore the body’s natural energy flow, it combines a wave-inspired massage with a herbal bath ritual, creating an experience that feels closely tied to Mui Ne’s beachfront setting.
Champa Bloom Essence is built around the healing power of flowers. It brings together detoxifying steam therapy, a mineral-rich mud facial and a sound healing session intended to encourage a meditative state and restore emotional balance.

Wellness Beyond the Treatment Room
Each Champa Journey experience also includes light macrobiotic refreshments made with herbs, grains, seeds and native botanicals.
The menu ranges from elixirs and tonics such as Golden Spice Ginger Tonic and Imperial Jasmine Infusion to dishes including Forest Essence Mushroom Congee and Silken Tofu Serenity. Like the rituals themselves, the refreshments are intended to extend the sense of nourishment beyond the treatment room.
For The Anam Mui Ne, the new collection reflects a broader idea of luxury travel — one where the experience of a place is not limited to scenery or service, but deepened through culture, ritual and memory.
In Mui Ne, where the sea, sand and history meet, Champa Journey offers travellers a more grounded way to pause. It is wellness with a sense of origin, shaped by ancient influence, local ingredients and the restorative calm of Vietnam’s coast.
